Valorie J. harris
BTAA Board Secretary/Treasurer

Valorie J. Harris was born and bred in Chicago, she began her career with a successful vocation in the United States Air Force, where she served with honor and distinction in the capacity of an E5 Training Instructor and Computer Operator. Following her admirable military service, she graduated with distinction from the following: Chicago State University – Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Ocean County College – Associate’s Degree in Computer, and Computer Training Source – Adobe Certification in Dreamweaver CS4.
For many years, her technical computer prowess and keen problem-solving mindset landed her as Co-Owner with ThreeZings, LLC and she was employed at Underwriters Laboratories. Now retired, Valorie has a strong passion for community engagement. Along with her duties with BTAA, she is the Financial Secretary on the Board of Directors of the National Women Veterans United Organization and Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Country Club Condominiums. Working with several community groups and affectionately called the “financing girl”, she served as an Adult Literacy Volunteer at Prairie State College and assisted in researching job placement for Veterans Senior Home Healthcare Solutions. Her meticulous attention to detail and strategic thinking has significantly contributed to the success of these organizations, allowing them to thrive and fulfill their missions.
Her turn into the theatre began with a crush on Lawrence Hilton Jacob (TV Actor – “Welcome Back Carter” and “Cooley High”); she wanted to know what made him so convincing and his smile so everything. Spending many evenings in the theatre these days, Valorie loves seeing actors, directors, technicians, give their heart, with joy and pleasure, to their art. Having been there at the very beginning with Vincent Williams when he started BTAA, she is more than excited now to center and continue BTAA’s institutional expedition.
